MELBOURNE MEN'S ATTITUDE.
UNFAVOURABLE TO THE STRIKERS. MELBOURNE, .September 4. Mr Spenco, a member of the Federal Houso of Representatives, and president of tho Australian Workers' Union, declared that not ono union can support the wharf-labourers' action, which is reprehensible, from any viewpoint.
Tho Council of the Watersido Workers' Union has forwarded a resolution to bo read at to-day's meeting, regretting tho men's action, and calling upon them forthwith to resume work on terms of tho agreement, which was honourably entered into.
With tho exception of her passengers and their luggage, the mails, and a line of 200 cased of frozen iish, the Warrimoo was an empty ship when she left Wellington on Friday evening for Sydney.
