CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PREDICTED.

Mr Bates's summary and weather forecast, issued at Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday, are as follow. — Tlie barometer has fallen everywhere, with westerly breezes generally, snd fair to cloudy weather, warm and hazy, in most parts of the country. Drizzling rain has fallen in Otago. Present indications aro still for a falling barometer but a rapid rise will probab!y take place shortly w'th a decided change in the weather, especially on th» East Coast of both islands, where strong southerly and south-easterly winds aro to be expected. In the meantime moderate and variable winds, with hazy weather generally but misty and showery conditions in southernmost districts aro to be expected.
