THE WAIHI MIKE. (•PECIAI, TO "THE PRESS.") AUCKLAND, September 26. Tho following extracts ace taken from the report of the manager of tho Woihi mine for the four weeks ended September sth—The crosscut in Ko. 10 level ia along B2Sft. The Reptilj south-east crosscut, 2Vo 9 level, is along 812 ft. The reef formation met at 633 ft proved to bo sft wide (measuring at right aii-jles to the dip), and was worth 33 3d per ton. Royal Lode—The weet face is along 501 ft. Five feet of the reof is exposed in the face with the south wall in hand. Tho following sample ream! ts wero obtained aa the drive advanced: —At 740 ft, worth 7s 7d per ton; 750 ft, 8s 8d r*>r ton; 760 ft, £2 6s 8d per ton; 770 ft, £1 14a lOd per ton; and at 771 ft the lodo m 3ft wide, and worth) £1 2s 4d per ton Tho Empire Lode—The hot drive is along Cl9ft in tho face. The width, of the xeef has reduced to 2ft, and assayed as follows:—At 560 ft, 12s 2d per ton; 570 ft, £1 133 7d : SBoft, 5s 4d; 590 ft, 3s 4d; 600 ft 7s 6d; 610 ft, £3 3s, 4d. and 6171t, £7 3» 3d. (Hero tho lode ia 2ft wide). At 594 ft the full WKlth of the lode ia 10ft, worth £1 4g per ton. Tho level has been widened out the full width of the drive from 580 ft to Go7ft. Tho Edward Lode—The south drive is along 62Gft from the perch crosscut, which is estimated to be about 60ft from the Royal Lodo junction. The following sample results have been obtained:—At 440 ft, worth £2 5s 3d per ton; 450 ft, 15s id; 460 ft, 15s 7d; 470 ft. 17b 4d; 480 ft, 14s sd; 490 ft, £3 5s 2d: 500 ft, £1 9s 7d; 508 ft, £4 123 Id. At 450 ft the full width of tho lode is 20ft, worth £2 lfl<» lOd per ton. and at 500 ft tho full width 19 18ft. worth £2 19s 3d per ton. In crosscutting further east in tho latter crosscut it was proved that the supposed wall was false country, 2ft wide, and beyond this thero is a further 3ft of arc, worth £6 1« 3d per ton. Tho Welcome Lode at a point 50ft north of the south wall in tho Richard crosscut ia worth £1 13s 5d per ton. In the north section at 10ft tho reef is worth 19s Od per ton. At 631 ft in No. 4 shaft, north crosscut the drive S.S.W. is•.long 117 ft. The quartz has reduced to Bin in width, and farther driving is suspended. At 9Gft the lode was 3ft wide, worth 6s 9d per ton.
