Arnmnionto is now boiny trained by T. W. Cotton, junr., and has been shaping fairly well in his education as a hurdler. Several of the Now Zealand two-year-olds at present in Sydney havo contracted influenza, and may not bo fftarters at the A.J.C. Meeting. When the last mail left Australia Lady Medallist ruled a« a hot favourite for the Epsom Handicap, ajid her work on the tracks fully justified the support accorded her. A meeting of stewards of the Cheviot Racing Club was held on Saturday, Mr T. C. Robinson, vice-president, in the chair. Mr H. Thomson was appointed starter. Mr Burland, of Kaikonra, wrote accepting the position of handicaper. Mr A. W. Rutherford wrote offering a President's Welter Handicap of £10, with certain conditions. Mr A. W. Rutherford, junr., also wrote, offering to reinstate the Brookdale tStakes. Both offers wero accepted with thanks, ajid the donors were made life members of the Club. A Sydney cable announces the following scratching.?:—Chaste for the Kensington Handicap, and Malt Bruin- for the Epsom, Metropolitan, and Derby. Wharekura was" offered for sale at Sydney yesterday, and passed in at 24 guineas.
