A meeting of stewards of the Cheviot Racing Club was held on Saturday, Mr T. C. Robinson, vice-president, in the chair. Mr H. Thomson was appointed starter. Mr Burland, of Kaikonra, wrote accepting the position of handicaper. Mr A. W. Rutherford wrote offering a President's Welter Handicap of £10, with certain conditions. Mr A. W. Rutherford, junr., also wrote, offering to reinstate the Brookdale tStakes. Both offers wero accepted with thanks, ajid the donors were made life members of the Club. Wharekura was" offered for sale at Sydney yesterday, and passed in at 24 guineas.
