PROPOSED LEASE REFUSED.
A THREAT FROM TURKEY
PARIS. September 25. According to "Le Matin," Turkey, after refusing Italy a lease of Tripoli, announced that if Italian warships were sent there, she would expel the 50,000 Italians who reside in the Turkish Empire, and boycott Italian trade. In that event, adds the paper, Italy would declare war.
