n At the mooting of tho Southbrook .school Committee on Monday— present, Messrs I>. W. L. Mehrtens (chairman), J. Laskey, S. Kirk, T. Shaw, W. Kirk, A. Hamilton, and W. Ross —thirty applications were received for the position of headmaster, rendered vacant by tho resignation of Mr J. B. Borthwick, appointed to Hampstead, Mr J. Brunton, M.A., of the Rolleston school,-was tho candidate selected for recommendation to tho Board of Education.
