(Received August 2nd, 12.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, August 1. Although forty-five entries were received for the prize for flying machines, no machines havo been submitted. The Acting-Minister of Defence proposes that- a largo sum be spent to encourage persons whose ideas havo been approved.
