SHIPPING NOTES.
The Italian barque Enninia, which anchored in tho etreara on Sunday night, after bein* towed from Wellington by the Duchese, wad berthed yesterday morning- at the Gladstone pier. It is -understood that the amount agreed upon for the towage from Wellington to Lyttelton was £80. The Erminia is a finelookiiig modern etoel barque of 1560 tons gross register. She is only nine years old, having been built in 1902 at Genoa, where she is owned. Captain G. Marches* is in command of the Erminia, which is manned btr Italians. *
The New Zealand Shipping Company a steamer Ruahine, from London via way ports and Wellington, i 3 due hero this morning to complete discharging. She will leavo about Saturday for Bluff and Timaru, returning , later to Lytteltoii and afterwards calling at Auckland and Wellington to complete loading. The Ruahine will leave Wellington on tbo 24th inst. for London, via usual way ports. The Federal-Hooldor-Shire Line steamer Sussex, which arrived at Wellington on Sunday night from West of England ports, via Auckland, has 2300 .tons of cargo to land there, before coming to Lyttelton, where eho is duo about Saturday or Sunday next. . The Hauroto is to leave Napier to-day direct for Auckland, temporary repairs to her bowhaving been effected. She will leave Auckland on Thursday for East Coast ports, and is due here next Tuesday. The Kittawa will finish discharging her cargo of limber to-day, and after loading produce end general cargo, will sail for Greymouth {The Pukaki is to sail to-nigbt for Dunedin, to complete discharging. Tho Kini is to leavo Groymouth to-day for Wcstport, to completo loading a cargo of coal for Lyttelton. She ie due here about Thursday. The Kowhai is duo here next Tuesday from tho South, and will sail the same day for Wellington, Napier and Gieborne. Ut Reeves, chief officer of the l£ittawa, hao been granted extended holiday leavo, to enable him to go to England. Mr Henry, second engineer of tho same vessel has gone on holiday leave, and is bein™ relieved by the third engineer. Mr McPherson. Mr "Houghton has joined tho Kittawa ac acting third engineer. Captain H. Patterson, who acted as coastal pilot on the Ermiaia, returned, to Dunedin by the second express yesterday.
The Defender arrived hero to-day from Karamea, via Akaroa.. to discharge the balance of a cargo of timber She is expected to pail to-night, taking cargo for Wellington and West Coast perls. The Putiki arrived early yesterday morning with a full cargo of timber from G-ey-mouth. After discharging , sn« will take in produce and general carpo for Wellington, Wanganui and Grcymbuth, and will leave to-morrow night for Greymouth, to complete loading.
