ASSAULT CASE.
MR HUGHES'S APPEAL DISMISSED.

Mr Hughes's appeal against tho jury's verdiot in the case in which Richard Bellinger charged him with assault and breach of agreement, was dismissed with costs.
On July 6th, the NB.W. Supreme Court in Banco gave judgment for £255 against Mr Hughes, Federal AttorneyGeneral, for assault and breach of agreement with Richard Bellinger. Bellinger contracted with Mr Hughes to work the lattor's dairy farm at Windsor en the share system for twelve months. After eight weeks had gone by, Mr Hughes declared the farm' was not being properly worked, and ordered Bellinger to quit. As plaintiff refused, Mr Hughes had him forcibly removed. Stay of proceedings was granted, pending the decision of the Full Court on certain points of law.
