SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE.

METHODS OF THE CAMORRA

(Rceived July 12th, 9.10 p.m.) ROME, July 12. Remarkable revelations made at tho Viterbo trial by Captain Fabbroni have revived interest in the trial. Captain Fabbroni, who is a young distinguished officer, and a Knight or the Crown of Italy, made certain enquiries as Captain of tho Carabineers. Ho gave his evidence with great clearness and confidence. He showed that the corpses of Cuocolo and his wife had been given an impriint of revenge in order to inspire fear. Erricone, one of the accused, and head of the Society, had invented a system by which each branch of the Camorra had a figurehead in addition to the real head. The disclosures led to an uproar in tho cage containing the prisoners. Captain Fabbroni continued that the chief injunction of thc Camorrist decalogue was never to confess, even if such confession would help an accused member. Betrayers were punished by hanging, and for other offences punishment ranged from beatings and razor slashes to murder. Abbatemaggio, who had confessed, had already been condemned to death, nnd it was impossible for him to escape if he left the prison. The Camorra's object was to despoil everyone within its clutches, from tho prostitute or sneak thief, to the highest official. Erricono had been subsidised by the Naples Illumination Company in order to prevent tho theft of wires and other implements. Other Neapolitan companies had similarly secured immunity. Recalled, the witness -stated tliat at times landed proprietors had supported brigandage in order to securo their own ■safety.
