Speaking to a 'Tress" representative the Mayor said he greatly appreciated the kindly offer made by Mr Williamand Mr f Stewart, and he hoped 1 that the people of Christchurch would ] patronise the matinee liberally, co that | a substantial sum would be realised to I augment the fond.
