WILLIAMSON BENEFIT MATINEE.
ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
Mr R. Stewart, manager for Mr J. .1 C. Williamson's Dramatic Company, now engaged in a Christchurch season, informed the Mayer yesterday that , he had cabled to Sydney and had ob- ( tamed Mr Williamson's permission to t give a matinee performance by the 1 Company of "Henry of Navarre," on ( Saturday afternoon, in aid of the local < Coronation Memorial Fund, the whole ] of the net proceeds to be deroted to the 1 rand. Speaking to a 'Tress" representative the Mayor said he greatly appreciated the kindly offer made by Mr Williamand Mr f Stewart, and he hoped 1 that the people of Christchurch would ] patronise the matinee liberally, co that | a substantial sum would be realised to I augment the fond.
