KAIAPOI.
The monthly meeting of the Kai- j apoi School Committee was held on 1 Monday, Mr A. G. Ashby, chairman, presiding. The Board of Education intimated that the overseer of works would inspect and report, on the asphalt required. One guinea was voted to the funds of the Technical School and Mr A. T. Clark was recommended for appointment as a director representing the borough school. The month's roll number was 418, average attendance 388, and in the High School 25. For Arbor Day planting it was decided to apply for two and a half dozen silver birch trees. It was resolved to call the attention of the Board to the unwholesome state of the caretaker's cottage, which was the old Churoh of England schoolroom erected 51 years ago. j
