SYDENHAM PICTURES.

Tho new programme of Sydenham Pictures, screened on Saturday afternoon and evening, and witnessed by large and delighted audiences on both occasions, fully maintained tho high standard of ceneral excellence associated with tho' previous programmes shown at the Sydenham Empire Picturo Palace. Tho new films include a number of well-selected scenic studies, amongst them beins "How Winter Decorates," a study in snow and ice effects; "Above the Clouds," views from an Alpine altitude of clouds; and "Courmager to Cor-di-Giant." Tho dramatic pictures were also a noteworthy feature. . "Carminita, tho Faithful," was one of those stirring Mexican and cowboy .stories; "A Modern Knight Errant," and "The Slave of Carthage," also depicted incidents of thrillins interest. A series which was closely followed was tho one depicting feats in swordsmanship by tho champion of the British Army. Tho comedy films wero well selected, and included "The Coalman's Soap" and "Calino Attempts Suicide." The orchestral selections which accompanied the pictures wero appropriate. The sanio programme will be given this evening. Special free matinees for school children are to be given toafternoon, and on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
