LABOUR TROUBLES.
THE SEAMEN'S STRIKE. PARTIES AGREE TO NEGOTIATE. SHIPOWNERS CONFIDENT. United Press Association—By Electric Telograpn—Copyng-». LONDON, Juno 15. Tho strikers' demands have been paid on the steamer Olympic, but the White Star Company is laying up tho steamer Majestic at Liverpool. Tho shipowners have consented to negotiate with tho men's' representatives. The Shipping Federation has stationed the liner Sphcro in the Hull roads,, as a depot for the supply of men, if required. It is expected that it will bo some days before the strike reaches its maximum, as tho men have been ordered to fulfil thoir outstanding engagements. Tho shipowners state that they anticipate meroly slight inconvenience for a few days, as they are convinced that respectable seafarers will keep aloof from tho movemont, 'which, they claim, is largely supported by loafers and others who rarely go to sea. Thero is no particular enthusiasm in London, where Chinese crows aro signon under police protection. WHITE STAR DIFFICULTY ENDED. Later. Tho Seamen's Union has arrived at a settlement with the White Star Company. ' ■ ■ ■
