STRIKE AT BRISBANE GASWORKS.
United Press Association—By Eloctrio Telegraph.—Copyright. BRISBANE, May 23. A striko occurred at the gasworks owing to the company refusing to reinstate tho president of the union. The latter cave provisional notice of resigning, and then wished to retract. In the meantime tho company filled the position- Forty men then went on strike, and the works were closed. About three days' supply of gas is in the gasometers.
