TOMORROW'S ECLIPSE OF THE SUN.

To-morrow morning a partial eclipse of the sun will take place. It will begin about 7.25. reach it maximum in less than an hour, and finish about 9.20 (writes the Rev. P. W. Fairclough). At no time will more than half the sun bo obscured, and no phenomena, such as tho corona or prominences, aeed bo looked for. Tho line of total eclipse will bo only GO or 70 miles wide, but a partial eclipse, of greater or less magnitude, will extend for 2000 miles on each side of the line of totality. A bit of glass smoked over a candle is the popular instrument. By letting the sunlight into a room through small holes, less than an inch in diameter, the eclipso will" be seen in the spots of light on the opposite wall. Instead of "being routd, they will show a piece clipped out. Any usually round spots of sunlight, even in tho shadow of a i tree top, will show the same thing.
