VANDALISM.
xo the miiTOR ot* "tuk rn_R*t."
Sir, —Kindly grant mo space to complain about the disastrous manner in which tho young trees on the vSouth lielt, near the East Belt, are being treated. Within the last three weeks there have been no less than six or seven trees broken off just above tho ironwork. I am certain this has not been caused by tho wind, but by persons who have nothing else better to do-
It seems a shame that the efforts of the Society wiio are endeavouring to beautify the city should ho treated in this manner, and I think it is high time that it was stopped. If any person should tako a casual walk along the Belt he will see ample proof of my complaint. I hope the police will keep an eye on this particular locality for the future. —Yours, etc., J.C. February 2.
