(Before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.) For breach of their prohibition orders, Henry Bamford, .with five convictions against him during the past eleven months for drunkenness or breaches of his prohibition order, was committed to Pakatoa Reformatory for two years; John Hannah was fined 20s and costs; and Harry Thomas Mitchell, with a long record of convictions, the last three being for breaches of his order, was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment. Eva Norton was charged with disobeying an order requiring her to pay 8s per week towards the support of her child in the Caversham Industrial School, and with being £18 in arrears. She said that she was unable to pay. Tho Magistrate adjourned the case for a fortnight, in order that defendant might apply tojhave the order varied. Edward Joseph Reid was charged with failing to comply with the conditions of his release under the First Offenders Probation Act, in having failed to report himself to the Probation Officer at Wellington on May 23th, 1900. and also with having failed to pay £-'5 2s fid as ordered by the Court. Accused was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment on each of the three charges of theft at Oamaru, the terms to be concurrent. Mary Ellen Lund applied for an order against Frank Reed' on a judgment summons for the payment of £1 18s, balance of rent due. Defendant was ordered to pay the amount at the""ate of one ."-hilling per week. Thomas Duncan Brown (Mr Hunter) claimed from Stephen Tredenwick (Mr Dougall' l the sum of £26 for preparing plans and specifications and supervising the erection of a shop and dwelling. After len_thy evidence had been heard, plaintiff was nonsuited, but, on tho application of Mr Hunter, was allowed Court costs and solicitor's fees.
