FOR A LIMITED PERIOD ONLY.
(PBE&S ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLJNUiON, January 11. The Prime Minister "New Zealand Times" representative' to-day that owing to tho impossibility of finding a sufficient number of trained officers in th© country to give tho new compulsory military training scheme a fair start, the Government has asked for tho services of a few Imperial officers for a limited period. These officers are to fill the gap until the first batch of a similar number of cadets, now going to the Military College in Australia, have graduated, and are available for work in New Zealand. The services of these Imperial officers will be required for three years, and at the expiration of that period their places will be taken by selected local officers, who by that time, it is hoped, will be sufficiently trained to do tho work efficiently..
