The Union Company's training ship Dartford ia to leave Melbourne this week for Ncwcastlo to load coal for Lyttelton.'' The vessel will probably be- docked here after discharging. The auxiliary-screw schooner Huia left Kaipara on Monday with a cargo of timber for Lyttelton. After a passage of 17 days from Lyttelton, the Italian ship Beecroft arrived at Newcastle on Monday. The vessel' is to load coal for a port on the West Coast of South Amorica. Advice has been received from the Secretary, of the Marine Department stating that the use of the revolving light at Cape Maria Van Diemen lighthouse will be resumed on and after the night of the 17th inst. On her way out from Glasgow, the Maoriland Company's new steamer Lauderdale will probably call at Bunbury. to load jarrah, for New Zealand. ' The Kairaki arrived at one o'clock yesterday m6rning from Grcymouth, -and after discharging part cargo of timber left last night for Kaiapoi to land the remainder. She is due back here about midnight to-night, and after loading produce and general cargo will sail to-morrow afternoon for Wellington, Napier and- Gisborne. The F-deral-Houlder-Shins steamer Sussex, which left Auckland on Monday afternoon, is du-o hero to-morrow morning. Tho steamers has 1085 tons of cargo from West of England ports to land hare, and will"leave about Monday next for Dwnedin to finish discharging. The Sussex will be laid ap at Port Chalmers for some time. The next steamer to load at New Zealand porta for the West of England will be the Nairnshire, which will leave Sydney this week. The Sussex will take the loading berth in March. The Federal-Houldcr-Shire Line steamer Drayton Grange, which left Wellington on December 30th for Avonmbuth took the following cargo for West of England ports: — From Wellington: 1719 quarters beef, 5999 carcases lamb, 652 carcases pork, 125 boxes butter, 4087 crates cheeso, 331 casks tallow, 398 bales hemp, 334 dumps tow, 551 casks meat. II cases merchandise. 9 casks bacon, 3 orates ox tongues, 31 casks metal, 4 bundles wire, 1 cask beef. From Wanganui: 793 quarters beef. 403 carcases mutton,. 1506 carcases lamb, 100 casks meats, 3 crates .ox tails, 17 disks Sundries. From Waitara: 924 quarters beef, 23 carcases mutton, 3233 carcases lamb. 78 carcas.3 tegs, 36 casks tallow. From Auckland: 417 boxes butter, 18 kegs casings, 29 bales rags, 26 tons loose baric, 4906 pieces timber, 209 bundles timber, ' 4 cases merchandise. From Lyttelton: '""91 carcases mutton, 5212 casks lamb, 10 boxes butter, 100 crates cheese, 20 casks borings, 7 bales rage, 73 cases meats. From Port Chalmers: 10 boxes butter,"" 367 crates cheese, 7481 carcases rabbits, 83 bags beef, 89 boxes beef, 9 kegs casings, 9 bales wool. Froni Bluff: 1530 crates cheese, 2210 carcases rabbits, 203 bales wool, 41 cases meats. Captain A. C. Showmun arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, and took charge of the Waipori. Captain R. Crawford has taken command of the Mapourika, and Captain F. Crawford is in charge of the Pateena. Captain J. M. Beighton is in charge of the Wanaka in place of Captain D. Todd, who is on holiday leave. Mr H. D. Burch, late second offirer < f thG Takanuna .has transferred to the Mapourika. MY P. J. Collins, chief- engineer, and M« Parcoe, purser of the Takapuna, join the Waitemata and Haupiri respectively. The sco\V Ngaru was brought off the slip yesterday. The >. cssel haa been thoroughly overhauled, and is now in fine order. She is to load railway material here for Wellington. The John Anderson will go on *he slip on Saturday for cleaning and repainting. The bcow Eunice will probably be taken up on the slip on Monday to undergo slight repairs. The Manuka is due at Wellington this inorriing with 132 s§Joon and 141 steerage Eassengcrs from Sydney. She will a-rive at yttelton on Friday morning, and will leave again on arrival of the 12.10 p.m. train for Dunedin. Bluff, Hobart, and Melbourne. The Wootton arrived in the WaimakarirJ River late last night with a load of-sheep from K-ikoura. After landing them she was to leave on last night's tide for Lyttelton, v.hfcrc she was due early this morning. The Canopus left Westport at 5.30 p.m. yesterday with a load of coal for Lyftefton, and is due here about i o'clock to-morrow ncorning. *
