THIRD TEST MATCH.

The test match was continued to-day in hot weather. The wicket was perfect. The attendance was 5000. Kelleway (39) and Hansford 31) faced the bowling of Llewellyn and Sinclair, with, the total at 72. Tho bowlers were full of vim, the fielding was ciose. and runs were not easy to get. Kelletvay was unenterprising, but Ransford was more aggressive, and reached 50 as a result ot SO minutes' batting. Without adding to his score ho turned to bit a "ticer' from Llewellyn, missed it, and was bowled. " liardsley began to score immediately. Sinclair had bowled e:ght overs for il runs, but the ninth yielded four. The 100 went up in 105 minutes. At 111, Keilewny was smartly caught nt the wickets. H© batted for 114 minutes. When 126 was up, Pegler and Schwarz were tried with tho ball, md 20 minutes' tedious play followed. Before the luncheon only 69 runs were made in 87 minutes, and not a single fourcr was scored. At the adjournment the score was 141 (Bardslcy 2b, Trumper 11). . , , , , Sinclair and Llewellyn bowled on resumption. Trumper glanced each man to the boundary, and then banged Llowollvn twice for four. Facing Sinclair he hit 15 off ono over by four different strokes. Faulkner replaced Llewellyn, and four to Trumper made him 50" for Gl minutes' play. Four more meant that he had notched 44 out of 47 in 25 minutes. Pegler relieved Sinclair, and 2 to Bardsley completed 200, made in 173 minutes. A snick to the boundary gave Bardsley 50 in 87 minutes. At 226 Nourse, who leg before. Armstrong's first scoring stroke was a drive to the boundary off Llewellyn. Huns came freely, so Pegler and Sinclair were resorted to; 350 was posted in 246 minutes. Trumper, with two hits off Pegler, was 150 in U0 minutes. The next man to go was Armstroug, who tried to place Sinclair to tho on, but the ball kept low, and bowled him. -Seven for 384. Carter began watchfully. Trumper continued to be vigorous, und hit three fours off ono of Pegler's overs. The fourth century went up in-312 minutes. Carter was soon in double figures, and then hit two fours in one over off Sinclair. Nourse and Schwa rr. were tried at 424, and the latter, in his first; over,, got Carter leg before. Eight for 430. Cotter stayed with Trumper, who quickly ran to 200, which took him. 227 minutes to make. He was in, altogether, 230 minutes, and hit twentyfive fours, and did not give a chance. He scarcely made a false stroke. It was a magnificent innings, in which he Only onro lifted a ball, and then the stroke was nearly a six. He received & great ovation. The fielding of the Africnns was fair. The weather changed to, cool later m the afternoon, but rain is unlikely.
Hill says Trumper's innings was the "fracst knock" lie 'has ever seen. Scores:—
