Tho tenant i was aroused by a noise, and getting up he found one of tho front rooms in * flames. Ho had to make his escape * through the window. All that could | be saved was a few personal belonging*. *■ The house was insured in the State , office for £100. The fire is considered to havo been caused by a defective [ chimney.
