MR PETER BOWLING.
« (PREBS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) , AUCKLAND, January 9. Mr Peter Bowling, in an interview, stated that havijag been released from his engagement by the New Zealand Federation of Labour, he Jiad proposed returning to Sydney on the-13th mst., but as a result- of representations from Christchurch, he was now favourable to remaining another threo months in the Dominion, if satisfactory arrangements were made. (SPECIAI TO "THE PRESS-") DUNEDIN, January 9. When asked this morning in regard to the report that at a meeting of labour bodies recently held in Christchurch Mr Peter Bowling had been appointed to organise Labour through-, out the Dominion, Mr Breen (secretary of the Trades and Labour Council) said: —"Wo don't know anything-of Mr Peter Bowling; he has not come to New Zealand at our invitation. His engagement is with the "Miners' Federation of Labour, inaugurated by the Trades Councils of the Dominion. The question of appointing a Dominion Organiser is a matter for tho consideration of delegates at the annual Trades Councils' Conference and the Labour Party Congress at Easter. It is hardly likely that the Trades Councils will appoint as organiser ono who ii? actively enftaged in organising a rival federation."
