A special meeting of the Rangiora Borough Council was held on .Friday evening to consider the advisability or allowing, n house at Soutiibrook. winch had been condemned by tho Education jjpiartroent, being removed and renrected in the borough. Tho opinion of several htiildars was to, tho effect that tho building was sound, and tho Council agreed to allow its removal to tho borough, providing a new front wa. put in tho house. Tho matter ' was also brought up respecting the new police residence to be erected shortly, and it was decided to call the ' attention of tbe Minister of Internal ASain ta tho fact that the place ' would not meet with requirements, and according to plans was hot a very imposing structure.
