West Christchurch meeting East Christchurch at Hagley Park had first strike, and put up the satisfactory total of 324. After the first wicket had fallen for 3, Jennings and Turner carried the total to 71. the former eventually compiling 88 by masterly cricket, and beine badly run out by his partner. Afterwards, Dr. Foster played a very, fine innincs for 110, and Bonlnois batted capitally for SO not out. Riccarton A and Riccarton B commenced a match at Hagley Park. 'Ihe A team had first strike, and occupied the wickets the whole afternoon, scoring 500 for 3 wickets (Taylor 136, Prebble 134, H. Aorman 113 not out, Luttrell 48).
Sydenham B met East Christchurch at Hagley Park, when the latter, batting first, totalled 161 (Brooke 16, Twyneham 28, Neale 15, Dobbs 10, Rowe 19, Dr. Orchard 15, Atkinson 11 not out). Sydenham responded with 104 for three wickets (Graham 20, Hudson 22, McLelland 40, Fraser 13 not out).
Linwood batted first on Saturday at Sydenham Park against Sydenham, and scored 105 (Bowman 22, Cook 14, Worrall 22, Hayden 13, and Russell 16). Arnold, Hutchings, and McLelland took the wickets. Sydenham replied with 180 for five wickets (O'Malley 41. Fryer 32, Hobbs 41, Arnold 50 not out).
