ST. MICHAEL'S
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS.'' Sir, —After reading the letter in your "Press" signed "Parent.'' I feel it my duty, as a staunch member . f the Church of England and an old member of St. Michael's, to say something in his suravort. I. with a great many other old members of dear old St. Michael's, lcok forward once a year to take Communion in the Mother Church of Canterbury, and was in the Church on the Ist of January, but when I saw the extreme manoeuvres of its new vicar, my heart sank within mc, and I came away thoroughly disgusted. Instead of an over-flowing congregation, there were just a few. I looked for old familiar faces, and could not find them, and I am told they have left owing to the extreme measures introduced into the church by its new vicar. Why tamper with St. Michael's in this way? I will make a*: appeal to every member of the C.E.M.S. to take a stand as one man against s,uch a terrible ordeal, and I am sure they will do so.—Yours. *?tc. ASHBURTON FATHER.
