In consequence of the indications of an increase in emigration to Australia, the owners of the Mamari, which sailed for New Zealand in December, advise that they intend to deviato her to Sydney and Melbourne to land passengers. This step was taken in order to relievo tho extreme pressure on accommodation. LONDON, January 6. During 1910 assisted emigrants to tho number of 5500 went to New South Wales. This number included 2100 farm labourers and domestics, the remainder being mostly the wives and children of settlers.
