THE IRISH QUESTION.

MR O'BRIEN ON THE OUTLOOK. United Pross Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received January Bth, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 7. Mr William O'Brien and his wife have contributed £1000 to the All-for Ireland League. Mr O'Brien, speaking at Cork, declared that Mr Birrell had frankly and (pniblicly told the Irish that even if the Lords adopted the Veto Bill in tho present Parliament, under no circumstances could Home Rule be a question of practical politics before another general election. If in face of that warning tho Irish swallowed the ridiculous promise of an Irish Parliament before the Coronation, Liberals would not be to blame. It was on tho strength of that promise that Mr Redmond had cheated his fellow-country-men in America out of £40,000.
