CRUISERS TO COST MORE THAN EXPECTED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright, MELBOURNE, January 7. The modifications agreed upon in the designs for the two Commonwealth cruisers, in order to fit them for the rough seas prevailing on the Australian coasts, involve an extra cost of £100,000 in the case of each vessel.
