RIFLE SHOOTING.
CHRISTCHURCH RIFLE CLUB. The Christchurch Rifle Club's fourth spoon competition was fired at Cashmere on Thursday and Saturday, at 500, 900 and 1000 yards. Some excellent scores were made considering the long ranges. W. J. Henry came out on top with 97, made up with 32, 34 and 31, A. J. Hahn, with the aid of 10 points handicap, running him very close with 96. The Thursday men had a slight advantage in the weather experienced, tne Saturday men having to contend with a very changeable light. Thursday and Saturday competitors are distinguished by aTor S. With half the season's competitions fired, and counting the beet three out of four for the club championship aggregate, the following are the leading scores:—E. Duthie 288, H. Reynolds 282, W. H. On <he Tai Tapu range on Wednesday and Saturday last the Lincoln Defence Rifle Club'e fourth competition in the "Continued" series was fired. On tho first day a N.E. gale and on the latter a tricky S.E. wind proved disastrous to many of the marksmen, and accounts for the indifferent scoring all round. The ranges were 200 yds and 600 yds, 10 shots at each. The scores were: —

The conditions were ten men aside, ten shots at 200 yards, and five shots at 500 yards.
