WAIMATE.
At a meeting of the Wnimate hranin of the New Zealand Farmers Imon theiv wore about sixty irom different places in Waimato County present to hear a lecture on nnlcti fows and dairyiu"- in Now Zealand, by Mr Patterscn] Mr A. Garland, president of the branch, was in the chair. -Mr Patterson «;ave a hiclily instructivo, ■practical, and useful lecture on dairy cows, speaking as to selection, treatment, tood, diseases, and accidents, treatment of calves, breeding, etc.. with lurid description, illustrated by diagrams of tlio rormation ot' milk in the udder. H,. also touched on the great increase of production of. and demand for, butter in New Zealand, and the success of the Danes in dairy fanning and product ion of first-class butter. Mr Patterson's invitation for questions at the close of his locturo was mot by several questions being put by members and answered by Mr Patterson. The lecture wa.s we'll received by all present as being highly instructive and valuable. With a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Patterson for his lecture, the wish of the meeting for another visit to Waimato and lecture by him on a similar subject was unanimously expressed.
