SWIMMING.
SPREYDON- CLUB. The annual genera! meeting of the Spreydon Amateur Swimming Club was held recently, Mr H. R. L. Knight presiding over a fair attendance. Tbe report and balancesheet, which were, adopted, 3how a satisfactory credit. Reference was made to tho loss sustained by the Club owing to the diiath of Mr W. K. Duncan, who had held offices aa club captain, committccman, kamlicapper, and treasurer since the Club was founded in 190-1. Several r.ew members were nominated, and it was stated that the Club had prospects of a successful season. Officers were elected as follow :—Patron, Mr G. Witty, M.P.; president, Mr R. Pitcaithly; vice-presi-dents, Drs. Gow and Marks, and Messrs R. Rainey, J. Mercer, senr., D. Sykes, N. M*. Duncan, A. C. Nottingham, A. Hancock, W. Fenner, G. Diion, C. Dixon, J. Jacobsen, B. Gahagan, W. R. Gahagan, and W. Roberts; club captain. M. Murphy; vice-captain, H. Brovrn; secretary, \V. Jarmnn; treasurer, S. v Hancock; delegate to tho Canterbury Centre of Swircmirifc Association, C. Jones: committee, Messrs J. Mercer, junr., J. McGettrick, J. Jarman, C. Jones, E. R. L. Knight, J. Thornton, and G. Wendleken; club lmndicappers, Messrs J. Mercer and M. Murphy.
