A man named Knight, enquired on a steamer trading between .Syusiev and New Zealand, married in New Zealand in August last, and brought his wile to Sydney. Subsequently his wife, disappeared, and Knight states that he to is ml her living with a man named Pat on in Adelaide. Knight induced her to return to him. She left him, ami Knight traced her and l.'atou to He confronted thorn there, and according to Paton s story, tired two shots at him. which narrowly missed him. Paton left the room to secure a revolver. During his absence he heard three more; shots, and found Mrs Knight on the floor, bleeding from a severe wound. Knight surrendered himself to the police.
