At a meeting of tho Life-saving Committee to carry out the arrangements for Mr Henry's visit in, connection with tho local branch of the Royal Life-saving Society and the proposal to form a New Zealand head centre, it was decided to ask the Mayor to give Mr Henry a civic reception at the Council Chambers on the day of his arrival, to arrange for a public dinner and demonstration, and to hold a public meeting. It ;g hoped that arrangements may be maclo for Mr Henry to visit the schools, and to present certificate? and diplomas to candidates who pass their examinations. It was reported that some 150 candidates would be ready for examination, including a number of boys and girls from the primary i.nd secondary schools. A public meeting will bo he'd at Sumner this eveninc for the purpose of forming a branch of tho Society.
