THE INDRABARAH ARRIVES.
A FINE CARGO STEAMER. Tbo new Tyscr Lino steamer Indrabarah, which left Port Chalmers early on Saturday morning, mado a fast run up the coa.t, averaging 11 knots per hour, and arrived in tho stream shortly after 7 p.m. It was then too dark to bring her in, and the v_ssol dropped anchor. She camo in yesterday morning, and berthed at No. _ wharf. Tho Indrabarah, which is on her maiden voyago from London, was launched a few months ago by Messrs Swan, Hunter and Wigharu Richardson, Ltd., at Newcastlo-on-Tyne. She is an exceptionally finely modelled vessel of 6959 tonp, and is _70ft in length. The Indrabarah has a deadweight capacity of 15,000 tons, and is certainly in the front rank of tho cargo steamers in the New Zealand-London trade. Her four masts' and big funnel and her fine. deck appointments gives her a very striking appearance. She has very fino accommodation for twelve saloon passengers, and her officers, engineers, and crew are provided with exceptionally comfortable quarters. Tho Indrabarah is fitted with twin-screws, and propelled by two _ets of triple expansion engines built by Richardsons, Westgarth and Co., Ltd., of Hartlepool. On her trial trip tho vessel developed ia speed of 14,5 knots an hour. Her fivo holds aro fitted with tho very latest appliances for tho rapid handling of large cargoes, and. insulated spaco is provided for 95,000 carcases cf mutton. The Indrabarah waa docked at Port Chalmers on Friday morning for cleaning; and painting. Sho ia lo load about 15,000 sac___ of grain at Lyttelton, and -will leave to-morrow for Napier and other North Island ports to complete loading for London. She will sail finally from Wellington on the 29th inßt. for London via Las Palm&s.
