A meeting of the Canterbury .Land Board held yesterday, there being present:—Messrs*! - . N. Bnxiriek (Commissioner of Crown Lands), J. Gibson, J. Sealv. J. Stevenson, and R. Macaulay. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. The following applications for land Tvero considered and granted: —William C McKinlay, Block XIII., section 13, Hornby: John Smith, Block 111., section 3. Buddo; Thus. Henry Tippet, Block XIII. , section 14, Hornby. TENDERS FOR LEASES OF RESERVES. The Commissioner of CYowii Lands reported tenders received for the leases of reserves 2999 and 2448. and it was resolved to accept tenders as follows : —For Tcservo 'J'Ji'V, township of Geraldine, R. 15. Easterbrook, at £3 ns per annum, with permission to c-.ilti-a ate; for reserve 2448, White Rock r:ver, J. Lough, at £3 14s per annum. APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSFERS. An application by Clifton P. .Smith for a license to split timber over an area of about 50 acres of burnt bush, part of reserve 3121, at Patterson's Creek, vraa received. It was resolved ' to grant the applicant a license to cut all dead and fallen timber over the ' area applied for, but no growing trees : or scrub to bo cut. "" - ; The oases of a number of Crown ! tenants in arrears with their rents wcro ' considered, and in sixteen cases it was \ resolved to declare the lenses forfeited. ! In respect to the application of ■ Michael Sheehau, of Rakaia, for I tenancy of part of Rakaia riverbed ; adjoining village settlement, it was do- ' cided that a temporary grazin.g license ! be offerc<l by public tender at an up- ! set rental of £3 10s ncr acre. j An application by *W. E. Jones and F. Mcßrido to have vinselected lot 5, Ihiapuna So. 2, divided between them, was declined, as was also an application by I. Richards, lessee of lot 18, Tripp sottlement, for tenancy of part of the, Orari riverbed.
