PENINSULA HORSE SHOW.

i President : .Mr (?. Arm?tr*':r.r. Vice-presi-dent: Mr (i. V. 'Ih.-rr.as.' Favourable weather conditions prevailed for the sixteenth annual Peninsula Horse Shoo, which was held yesterday at Duvaucheiie. The entries were about up to the usual standard, though, probably owiny to the lateness of the season, several of the horses entered did not appear in the rin£, being hardly up to show condition. In tho light classes, however, the animals that, came, under the judges' notice drew forth their approbation, an outstanding feature bring tho general .soundness and breodinu. They considered the quality equal to tho metropolitan standard. The draughts were also a good lot, though this not being an agricultural district, could not be expected to equal those of the plains. A shearing competition was introduced among the. competitions, hut owing chiefly to shearing beins in full swing, there were only six entrants. The chief honours of the day fell to Mr T. Masefiold, who annexed the fir.st honours in the , ladies* hack, 13 stone, and hunter classes. Mr KyJe rerformed the duty of judge in tho classes, and Mr ~W\ B. Andrews for the draughts, while the cookery exhibits were attended to by Mr F. J. Hill. The attendance was rather above the average, judging by tho receipts at the gate.
