MR. T.S. MANNERING.
News has been received frcm Clifton. Kndnr.d, of the demise of Mr T. S. ..iannering, who arrived in tho Dominion in the early fifties and took up Birchill and the Fernsido runs, and -was for a time in partnership with Mr A. H. Cunningham. Ho resided at Fcrnskle about- twenty-three years, and later has held a property at Greta Vale, on the Cheviot railway line. In recent years Mr Mannering has been residing in England and the south of Italy. Those who remember tho deceased gentleman will entertain tho highest esteem tor his probity of character. Mc ,\vw a typical colonist, and helpful in many ways to those with whom bo came in contact. His efforts werp directed iv his station life to tho improvement of the flocks. At Fernside he will be long remembered for his sincere interest in Church and Sunday ■School work, and every movement for the uplifting of society on sound moral lines had generally his warmest support. Mrs Mannering predeceased her husband some nino years ago. He leaves a son, Mr G. E. Mannering, an officer of the Union Bank of Australia, aJid a daughter, Mrs Herbert Brown, of Mount" Thomas, still resident in NewZealand. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TBI JSQR AM.) WELLINGTON, November 1. The death is announced of Mr Henry Flockton, aged 7m yean?. Before coming to Wellington, thirty years ago, deceased was instrumental in forming the Fire Brigades Association of Great Britain. \. .- claimed to have been tho first'to introduce Mr Joseph Chamberlain to the British public from a political platform.
