It is reported that twentyhvo masters are paying tho demanded by tho mem Tho hoys who sweep tho city streets have struck. They demand an increase of sixpence a day. As a result of the recent strike of rifle rango markers, tho Minister of Defence has issued a regulation that no member of the naval or military forces shall be required to do work or act in tho place of civilians, who have refused to work because of «-v dispute about wages, hours, or conditions of labour, until the matter has been re _ ferred to tho Minister, and his consent to do such work obtained.
