Mr Triggs, the Conciliation Commissioner, sat in Dunedin this morning to hear the industrial dispute between the engineering employers'of Dunedin and Port Chalmers and the Dunedin branch I c. r the Amalgamated Society of Engineers. It was explained that the reason for citing the dispute was because 3lr Justice Sim had mentioned at Auckland that he did not intend to make a Dominion award until after hearing evidence in Christchurch, and it appeared as though Dunedin was to be ignored altogether. They thought they were entitled to he heard before a Dominion award was made. There was really no dispute, the employers and employees having worked verv'aniicably together.
