Tho last mooting of the Springs Roaxl Board was attended by all tho members. Correspondence was read from Sehvvn County Council, asking for further instalment of amount due in respect of tho Hospital, Charitable' Aid and small birds rates, tho total of which wot, €503 Is Id. The Board having only paid £o() on account, decided to pay the balance of funds now in hand. viz.. £150. The Canterbury Automobile Association wTotc, asking for improvements in the ford across tho iSehv.vn river, which it was stated uas causing inconvenience to drivers of motor Lraffic. Tho matter was referred to the clerk to attend to. Three tenders were received for painting tho office, and that of H. Kimo, at £7 10s, accepted, as was also his offer to paint the gates and pickets for £2. Tho overseer reported that tho travelling contractor was making good progress with his work at AVocdons. that part of Weedons, Gould's and Don's croc-sing roads had been re-formed with tho grader, that owing to the continued dry weather it was thought inadvisable, to attempt any grading on the innin roads at present, and that another batch of timber had arrived for lloskins bridge. It was decided to call tenders for the- erection of the fumo (labour only), ft was also reported that- tho Beard, in conjunction with the Ellcfitnoro J?ond JJnard, had accented a tender for the removal of willows at Coe's ford in the Sehvyii river.
