I The Walthamstow trades unionists have issued a manifesto stating that they arc thoroughly dissatisfied with Sir J. A. Simon's reply to the enquiries the Cabinet's attitude over tho Osborno judgment, and announce that they are determined to make an octive campaign against the Government. Sir J. A. Simon, speaking a t Leyton, eaid that ho was unwilling that the proper and reasonable functions of trade- unions should be curtailed, but he did not believe in doing evil that good might come. Whatever tho solution was, it must not do an injustice to large bodies of men whoso opinions were entitled to as much respect as his own. Mr John Ward, a Labour M.P. in an interview, said that ho preferred payment of members to the reversal of the Osborno judgment.
