The usual monthly nicetins «f tlio l.innood N'ortli School Commit te<j was hold in the , schoolroom on Wednesday eveniny. Present—Messrs Yv". H. Dcnton (chairman), R. Carter, J. A. Clarke, W. A. Cooko. S. K. Dixon, 1?-. Ellis and H. Murray. An apology was mado for Mr (1. Milne, and a letter i\ as received from Mr A. Hardy (secrotary), in which Jie staUd that having' left the district, he rcgretUd the necessity tor his -position on the committee. 'The resignation was accepted A\it)i regret, and it was decided to place on record the committee's appreciation of the alile way in Avhich Mr Hardy had carried out his duties aw a munlier of the committee, and also as lion, secretary. Mr J. A. Clarke \va.s apr/oiutt'd to the iwsition for the remaiiKler of the term. Tho North Canterbury Board of Education wrote re leave of absence to Miss Taylor, improvements to the school and grounds, incidental fund and general, tho headmasters report stated-time the roll number ivas now 410, highlit isttendancn on any one day 392, average for the past four week.-; 37!). The thanks of the committee were duo to Dr. HusstH and Mr J?. CarU-r for garden seeds. Mr' Dixon for cricket materia!, and Mr W. A. Cookc for tennis balls. The (iiiurterly examinations for the different standards were beinir held, tind the reports would be circulated .shortly.
