WEST'S PICTURES.
An-uniquo film of absorbing interest in the now series of pictures shown at the King's (Theatre, before a largo audience last evening, was one entitled "Micro-Cinematography," depicting the bacilli in water magnified four thousand times. The effect was almost incredioie, showing.the germs in teeming thousands, and the whole film was ono well calculated to make only boiled water Tiopnlar for drinking purposes, lhe programme was markedly strong, in. acenica. the best one of them being '■Scenes in Portugal," a representation of scenery in places well away from the beaten track. A travel film callins for special m ention wa6 "America to Italy," setting forth at the outeet -New i'ork skyscrapers, and later Jiio aboard the liner and scenes at the ports of call until Naples* was reached. "Sire Fighting in Paris" showed Paris firemen at work subduing an extensive conflagration, their strenuous efforts being eventually crowned . with success. ; A <|ramatic study of excellent merit was 'jl-e Jtecttdora," noteworthy nqt,. so much .lor .the strength of its plot as for its beautiful colouring, which was in Patho Frere'e best style. Another dramatic film of great interest wr.3 "Memory's Power, showing the tragic circumstances in which an artist rose to fame. Several comics were included in the programme, which was a most enjoyable and entertaining one. The same bill will be presented this evening.
