SCARGILL.
Tho annual meeting of the Scargill Defence Rifle Club was held on Saturday, tho loth inst. The reiwrt and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Three new members were enrolled. Tho Cameron Champion Cup for the year was won by Rifleman T. Roberts, with Jas. Cameron runner-up. . The Wood Cup for second-class was won by Rifleman B. Gibb, and a special prize, a silver tea-pot presented by Mr R. H. Wood, was won by Rifleman J. Gibb. Tho club desires to thank all those who so liberally contributed towards the prize list. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, 22nd inst. The following officers were elected for the year:—Patron, Mr Jno. Cameron; president, Mr S. B. Gibb; vice-presi-dents, Messrs W. Turner, R. H. Wood, W. Elliot, H. Acton-Adams, F. Holland, and AY. A. Banks; captain, Mr A. Cameron ; sub-captain and secretary, Mr J. Cameron.
