ANNUAL TRIALS,
The Banks Peninsula Collio Dog Club curamenced its imnual trials at Little River yesterday, in M-.- L. Breitmeyer's .paddock, ancl in fine weather. There was a fair attendance ol" Peninsula- ptople. Many entries were received from outside owners, while locally-owned dogs were wetl roprcsented. Only the first class was completed yesterday. Mr W. Rutherford acted aa judge, and Mr Jno. Parkinson as timekeeper. The following is the result of CL_rfS I. (-eadins, bringing back, and holding in iin_ about 300 yds. For district dogs). Mr H. Hutchinson'* Fox, 21 points .. 1 Mr A. Turpiu"s Lady, 23 points .. ..2 Mr J. X- Turner's Darky, 21 points .. 3 Mr J. W. Maiden's Jack. 17 points .. i Intro were, twenty-one entries and nineteen startersMr H. Hutchinson wins Messrs Strange snd Co.'s £1 J» for the competitor scoring the second hisrhfcst number of points, and Mr A Turpin Messrs H. Matson and Co.'s donation of ±.1 Is for the dog scoring most points in the class. CLASS 11. (huntawoy with slew) was commenced but could not b<> completed before dark. The trials -.rill be finished to-day.
