Ttio Tyser Line steamer Whakarua arrived yesterday evening from the Bluff to load frozen meat, sr»'n. «tc for London. She will leave to-morrow for Wellington and Gisborne to corftinue loading. A largo quantity of frozen meat, tallow, wool, and general cargo was shipped by the
White Star liner sthenic at Lytte!ton v The vessel sailed last night for Uisborne, Nepier, and Wellington to complete loading for Londcm. The barque Hazel Craig- went out to «.u anc/Kirage in tho stream at Wellington on 'lucsday, preparatory to leaving ior Lyttelton. She is bringing a part cargo of hardwood and tramway poles from C.'arence Town and Newcastle. Ihe A. and A. Line steamer Aberlour, from New York, via Australian ports and Auckland, is due at Wellington on Sunday, and at Lyttelton on Wednesday next. Tho auxiliary schooner Huia arrived at Wellington on Tuesday, after a very stormy passage from Kaipara. Ine vessel 'eft Kaipara on 'the previous Tussday, and had a fair wind to halfway between Cape Egmont and Stephen Island on Saturday morning, when she ran into & south-easterly gale. After sheltering at Guard's Bay the vessel resumed her way on Monday morning. At 3 o'clock on that afternoon the port stay of the jibboom carried away, and the jibboom had a narrow escape from going also. A new stay was quicKly adjusted and the schooner then reached port without further trouble. Whilst on her last trip up to Kaipara the schooner lost her topsail, mainsail, 100 cases of benzine, and the water tank. The Huia is uue at Lyttelton to-day to discharge the balance of her cargo of timber.
The Westport Coal Co.'s steamer Canopns is due here to-night or to-morrow morning with a load of coal from Westport. The Federal, Houlder-Shire Line steamer Cornwall, which left here on Wednesday for West of England ports, loaded the following cargo at Timani and Lyttelton:—From Lyttellon—For Avonmouth: 5499 sacks of wheat, 4161 carcases of mutton and lamb, 616 crates of cheese. For Liverpool: 15,353 carcases of mutton and lamb. 400 cases of preserved meats, 30 casks of tallow, 3C7 sacks of poas, 283 sacks of beans,' 1233 sacks of wheat. For Glasgow: 101 casks of preserved meats, 113 crates of cheese, 23G5 sacks of wheat, 1207 sacks of peas. From 'i'imaru—For Avonmouth : 2498 carcuses of frozen mutton and lamb, 1503 sacks of wheat, 276 sacks of oats. For Liverpool: 18,800 carcases of mutton and lamb. For Glasgow: 1500 carcases of mutton and lamb, 210 sacks of wheat.
, (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) InAPIER, April 23. The sea has sufficiently moderated to allow of vessels, berthing at the breakwater, and the steamers Monowai and Flora were working at the Glasgow wharl to-day. The steamer Fifeshire arrived in the roadstead to-day. The vessel left Auckland early on Saturday morning for Napier, and stood jut to spa owing to the heavy weather on the coast.
