THE ASSOCIATION GAME
A general meeting of the Canterbury Football Association was held on Wednesday evening. The season will open on May 7th. Four, teams have entered—Y.M.C'.A. .two, Sydenham and Christchurch one. Burnham will play later in the season for the Canterbury Shield matches. The Association has decided to enter for the Brown Shield Competition.
The Ellesmere Rugby •. Sub-Union's senior competitions commenced on Saturday. The game between tiouthbridge and Irvvell ended in . a draw, neither side scoring. Mr T. Flannery was. referee. The ililltovvn and Leeston teams mot on the latter ground, and after a hard struggle the home team iron by 11 points to nil. Mr D. Xiven. was referee.
Following are the names of players elected to play» for the Waltham and Marist United Club to-morrow at Lancaster Park against the EMt Christchurch B. team: — Dickie, Clementes, Frame, Malloy, Mullins, McGee, Bryan, Evans. Polton, Tench, Irving, Kilday, Fowke. Leckie, Riordaa; emergencies, Buck Cl-ements, Mazey.
