At the Bombay (India) races last month the New Zealand-bred horses, Scultline and Master Delaval, were, in excellent form. The City Plate* proved a comfortable win for Master Delavol, who easily defeated the English horse Fizz; while, with 9st 71b on his back, Soultline made all his own running in the Malabar Hill Plate, six furlongs, which he oast behind in the good time of lmin 13 4-sth sec. It is said that Soultline will be sent/ to England, where he may be trained by It. Woottori.

Mr T. H. Lowry, of Hawke's Bay, has (purchased from Mr L. Macdonald, of Victoria, the chestnut mare Aurarius, by Maltster —Aurous. R. Sutherland, the jockey who was killed at Adelaide last Saturday week, was a Victorian, and served hie apfrenticeehip with W. A. Filgate, at lemington. He rode several winners there, including The Amazon, in-the Royal Handicap, at the V.R.C. Meeting in 1905.* He subsequently went to West Australia, where he rode with considerable success for Mr P. A. Connolly Ind other owners. He piloted Post Town to victory in Mr Connelly's colours in the West Australian Derby and Perth Oup. He was riding in Melbourne last spring, and got Nushka home in the- V.R.C. Veteran Stakes.

The secretary of the Auckland Racing Club will receive nominations tills evening for the following events ,to be decided: at the club's Great Northern Steeplechase Meeting, to be held early in June: —Great Northern Hurdles Handicap, Great Northern Steeplechase Handicap, Winter Steeplechase, Cornwall Handicap, Prince of Wales Handicap, and York Welter Handicap. Acceptances for the Marllwrough R.C.s Autumn Meeting cloee this evening, and for the Forbury Park Trotting "Olub'a Winter Meeting, to-morrow night.

Outlander and his stable companion Bay Lupin have been engaged in some of the hack hurdle events at the Wanganui Jockey Club's Winter Meeting. Yesterday there was some uncertainty as to holding three trotting events at the Sefton Sports. Ten days ago, it was stated, application was made under the new racing law, but no reply was received, and frrnn early morning till 3 p.m. the officials, were telegraphing to the Minister of Internal Affairs and other officials for the permit. A little after 3 o'clock a telegram was received from Mr H. Pollen, Secretary for Internal Affairs, stating the permit was granted. The handicappers then met and arranged the preliminaries, and the events were got off. Mr F. R. Geddes. of Sydney,*owner of Denver Huon, has forwarded a cheque of £100 to Mr A. J. Gray, secretary of the Melbourne Trotting* Club, to bind a match for £500 a side between Denver Huon and Mrs Duncan's mare Sal Tasker.
