- "• ■. —... ;,■ K-z : i ..- s SPRINGS. •■■""' At tho last meeting of the Springs Read Board, the committee appointed to enquire into and arrange tor the purchase of a weed-cutting machine reported having again insjjected th& Christchurch Drainage - Board's machine, and had ordered a similar one, but somewhat smaller. In further repl? to tho petition • received at the previous _ meeting, asking the Board to assist in cleaning and maintaining the drain through the lake lands, the lake accounts being in debit, the Board could not see their ■r ay to assist or undertake more drain.;age work. A copy of the balancesheet (as audited) was submitted to the Board, which was considered satisfactory, and it "was decided to hold the i annual meeting of ratepayers on May ! 2nd, and the election, if necessary, on the 6th.
